Course Remains Open

Hello Everyone,

It has been a whirlwind last 30 hours but thanks to the RHGC Board and the Dhahran Community Services Team we have again determined that the RHGC is open for business.

Much like my email yesterday I want to remind everyone of what we as a board have agreed to for all of our members.  I would suggest if you are not able or willing to adhere to what is below, that you take some time away from the course as these are necessary for us to remain open and functioning.

  1. All tournaments, events, and socials have been postponed indefinitely.  Jeff Meisner is finishing up on a new and abbreviated Tournament Schedule.
  2. The clubhouse is closed, there will be no food services or drinks available.
  3. There should be limited congregating after rounds.  Please keep minimum safe causal distance if doing so.
  4. The bathrooms by the pro shop and starter would remain open and we have asked that special attention be given to them.  The Bathrooms on the course are also open. Please alert the starter if you feel the bathrooms are not clean or supplied with the necessary towels, wipes, or soap.
  5. The Pro Shop is closed until April 1.  We are still moving toward cashless purchasing and will await instructions from DHCS before opening.
  6. The starter will remain behind the glass of the starter shack.  They will be wearing masks and gloves.  No interaction is necessary as cards will be placed outside the glass.  We also plan to have wet wipes at the starter shack to assist in wiping your cart down.  Please remember they are for everyone J
  7. No water coolers will be out on the course.  We are in full brown bag mode:  Please bring food, drinks, ice, snacks, coffee, whatever you need from home.  Depending on how long this continues, it will eventually heat up, so treat this like you are going camping, bring all necessary supplies from home.
  8. Flagsticks are not to be touched and should stay in the hole for all players.
  9. Golf Carts can be rented as they will be cleaned and disinfected prior to each use.
  10. While I cannot believe I am saying this, members are able to walk and it is even encouraged.  Please keep the pace and most importantly do not tell the President that you can play as fast walking as he can driving J.  Please just work to keep the pace of the group in front of you, if you cannot, let faster players play through.  The card times do not mean you are playing on pace and no one should pass you, let faster players play through.
  11. Maintenance teams will be wearing gloves and masks and even suits for our safety in terms of range balls, rakes, flagsticks, hole cutting etc.  Please respect their work and do what you can to make their jobs as easy as possible.
  12. We really need to be diligent about filling divots, replacing ball marks and raking traps (using a glove or towel for the handle is recommended).  Jason’s team will be stretched thin to remain in compliance for us so please, everyone do your part and help.
  13. Lastly, all employees who are in quarantine have been sited and will not be allowed to play golf.  Any employee violating this provision will be met with HR discipline.

I hope you are as excited as I am with this decision.  I assure you that if we as a SDG are going to remain open we need to make every effort to comply.

Research:  Below video is an outstanding source for how to be prepared, keep equipment and carts clean and just some great reminders.  Have a look.
