2013 - SAIT Conditions of Play

1. ENTRIES

  • Entry fee of SR200.00 for SAGA Members and SR450.00 for Non-SAGA Members.  Deadline for registration is Saturday, October 19, 2013.  Deadline for payment of entry fees is November 1st, 2013.  Fees are payable at the RHGC Pro Shop.
  • Online Registration can be found @ http://www.arabiangolf.com.
  • The field size will be determined based upon the number of applicants responding to this invitation and in accordance with RHGC’s goal of securing participation from a wide number of different golf clubs in the region.  Applicants are advised that the number of participants accepted per golf club may be limited based on the overall response.  Applicants must provide a club certified handicap at the time of payment of registration fees.  Should an accepted entrant withdraw, alternates will be immediately notified. Entry fees will be refunded at the earliest opportunity to alternates who cannot be accommodated in the tournament.
  • The Committee reserves the right to limit and/or restrict the number of entrants from any one club or golf society.  These limitations will be communicated to the respective Club Secretary after the deadline of October 19, 2013.


2. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Open to professional and amateur Golfers who are current members of a Golf Club or Golf Society, with a maximum certified handicap of 12.
  • A valid handicap certificate and/or letter from Club Secretary must be submitted to the Committee during registration. Clubs may submit a composite listing of handicaps for multiple entrants.   Players MUST play off their current handicap index on the day of the competition.  Current handicaps must be presented to the Committee at time of registration.


3. RULES

  • Play will be conducted according to the rules of the USGA, the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, the Saudi Aramco Golf Association (SAGA) Sec IV, and Rolling Hills Golf Club Local Rules.  A copy of pertinent Section IV Administration rules in SAGA and RHGC Local Rules will be provided to each Competitor at Registration.

4. PLAY

  • Stroke Play (from the Championship tees) over 36 holes on Friday November 8th & Saturday November 9th, 2013.
  • The 40 Low Gross scores (plus ties) from Day-1 competition, will advance to the Day-2 Championship Round.  The next 40 Low Gross scores (plus ties) who did not qualify for the Championship Round on Friday will advance to the 18 Hole Plate Competitions. 
  • First day ties at the last position will be based on published count-back rules.  In the Championship Competition, gross scores for both days will be totaled to determine the winner.  The Plate Competition will be based on Friday play only.
  • Assigned tee-times for Friday’s Championship and Plate Competitions will be first from highest gross score to lowest gross score.
  • Competitors will be allowed to either walk or ride in a cart, (limited to 2 gas/electric carts per grouping). Players’ who wish to use caddies are permitted to do so but are responsible for obtaining them.  Player must ensure that their caddies adhere to customary golf club dress codes.  Fees for rental carts are the responsibility of the player.

5. DECISIONS

  • The decisions of the Tournament Committee on all matters of competition play shall be final. The Tournament Committee will include the Tournament Directors, appointees, as well as non-participating members of the RHGC Grounds and Rules Committee.

6. DRAW

  • The draw for the First Round will be made by lot, except where possible, visitors, will be drawn with an RHGC Member.  The draw will be posted the Rolling Hills Golf Clubhouse on Thursday November 7th, 2013.

7. STARTING

  • Players shall report to Registration table 30 minutes before their assigned tee-time.  Players are requested to present themselves to the Starter 15 minutes before the start of play.  Order of play will be governed by the Draw.  The player must start at time designated by the Committee.  Penalty may include disqualification.      

8. PRACTICE

  • All competitors may practice on the course on Thursday, November 7th, 2013.   No practice will be permitted on the competition course during the Tournament days of November 8th and 9th. The driving range will be available free of charge to competitors on all three days.   

9. TIES

  • Players tied for first (1st) place will participate in a sudden death play-off starting at the 18thhole.  Play will alternate between holes 18 and 9 until there is a winner.
  • Other ties will be decided by count back under USGA Rule 33-6, Stroke Play ©.

10. PRIZES

  • The 48th Saudi Aramco Invitational Tournament Champion will be the person returning the lowest gross score over 36 holes.

Championship Competition:

36-Hole:  1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Low Gross

36-Hole:  1st, 2nd and 3rd Low Net

Day-1:      Low Gross and Low Net

Day-2:      Low Gross and Low Net

Plate Competition

18-Hole:   1st, 2nd Low Gross

18 Hole:   1st, 2nd Low Net

Skill Prizes

Day 1 & 2: Longest Drive and Closest to Pin.  Holes will be announced.  Players are eligible to win only one time in each category.
