2021 President's Cup

The President's Cup is March 26th & 27th. Please read the below information.

CHECK-IN

Step 1: All COVID-19 Protocols are to be adhered to while in the golf course area. You are required to check-in with the starter and have your temperature taken. This means you must get out of your cart, walk up the stairs, take your temperature, tell the starter your name and tee-time. This includes having your temperature taken as your check-in for your round.  Failure to check-in with the starter shall result in your team being disqualified.

Step 2: Proceed to Clubhouse within 15-30 minutes of your scheduled tee-time (Remember to social distance and Masks on in the Clubhouse).  You will collect your shirt at this time.  The Team Captain (“A” Player) will collect everyone’s Pink Balls and pitch mark repair tools – save the baggie, you will need after the round is over. At this time, you can purchase a Mulligan Yellow Ball for 25 SAR.  Please bring exact change.  Yellow balls cannot be shared, each player must purchase their own yellow ball in order for them to use it in case they lose the pink ball.

Step 3:  Colored Ball Inspection – You may at any time, have your cart, golf bag, pockets, backpack, cooler or any other place may be searched if the inspector suspects you may be trying to hide illegal pink and yellow golf balls.  My advice, leave them in your shed, or at home.

DRIVING RANGE:

The driving range is open.  During hours when the range attendant is there, please tr to limit your practice time to 15 minutes and in your reserved slot.  When the attendant is not there (12:00PM to 3:00PM) the range is open, however you will have to serve yourself.  Use gloves and hand sanitizer before and after collecting the balls.

SCORING

All Scoring will be via USGA TM.

Playing a hole without a Pink Ball (or the Mulligan Yellow ball) is a 1 stroke penalty and shall be added to the score of the designated Pink Ball player for that hole when entering the score in TM.

AFTER COMPLETING PLAY

The Team Captain shall collect all the pink balls and place them in the baggie he/she received them in.  The captain will then proceed into the Clubhouse and place the baggie with the balls inside the baggie (and sealed) in the designated bin.  If your players purchased yellow balls, we want to see those as well.  They are yours to keep after they have been logged.

LUNCH ON FRIDAY

Everyone is entitled to two (2) Shawarmas and a soda.  Extra Sodas will be charged at 5 SAR.

There will be bottles water available, however we encourage everyone to bring their own ample supply.

PRIZES

Top 5 teams (combined scores from Day 1 and Day 2) will be awarded prizes.  On Friday, there will be 18 skill prizes (attachment for full details will be sent later this evening).  You can win more than one Skill Prize.

CONDITIONS OF PLAY

Play will be conducted according to the rules of the USGA, the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, and Rolling Hills Golf Club Local Rules

The below exceptions superseded the local rules of Rolling Hills Golf Club for the purposes of this Competition.

  • You must be a member in good standing of Rolling Hills Golf Club, reached the age of 17 years and have an active USGA/WHS Handicap Index.  A member in good standing is a member that has paid all the required yearly dues for the current year (2021).
  • Local Rule 7 (Alternative to Stroke and Distance for Lost Ball or Ball out of Bounds (E-5)) does not apply.
  • Local Temporary Rule 3 (Foam Hole Insert: During casual golf, when a ball bounces out from the hole due to foam (or other material) insert please use your best judgement along with your fellow playing partners to determine if the ball would have holed out more than 50% of the time if there was no insert.) does not apply.  The ball must come to rest in hole to be considered as holed.
  • The maximum score anyone can have on a hole is 2 x Par plus handicap strokes (otherwise known as double net par).  Therefore, if you are on a Par 3 and receive a stroke, your maximum score is 7 for that hole.

The Committee in charge of a Competition reserves the right to

  • Adjust the Playing Handicap of an entrant within the Terms of the Competition where there is evidence that the player’s Handicap Index does not reflect their demonstrated ability.  Any adjustments or reviews will be coordinated with the Handicap Committee.

  • The Net Pink Ball Score plus the 2 Best Net Scores of the other 3 players will be added to together to determine the Net Team Score for each hole.
  • There are no 3 player team rules, you must have 4 players on your team.
  • Playing Handicap Allowance: Men – maximum 28, Ladies - maximum 32

  • However, players can purchase a yellow ball for 25 SAR.  If they lose the pink ball, they can play the yellow ball with no scoring penalty throughout the remainder of the round.  If a player loses the pink ball and has not purchased a yellow ball, they are required to add 1 stroke to their score on each hole they are the pink ball in TM.  Example:  B Player hits his pink ball OB and cannot find it on 2.  If he has purchased a yellow ball, he can put it in play and use it the rest of the way with no penalty.  If he does not, he needs to take a +1 penalty on hole 2, 6, 10, 14 and 18.  The yellow ball does not take the place of a pink ball for bonus points as seen above. If you lose the yellow ball, the 1 stroke penalty is then assessed as shown above.
  • Remember this is supposed to be fun, so please play the game straight.  Trust me we will know if you did or not.

If you lose the green ball, the 1 stroke penalty is then assessed as shown above.
  • Remember this is supposed to be fun, so please play the game straight.  Trust me we will know if you did or not.
